Finally, a post!

I think I have finally managed to get over the food poisoning and I've gotten my apetite back for the most part. Kim was sick for a day, but I was out for clost to a week! We ate some chicken marsala at a restaurant that the bus stopped at and we must have picked it up there. That's the only thing Kim and I had in common before we got sick.

Other than contracting food poisoning, Bangalore was a lot of fun. The children's home that we stayed at there is run really well. They even have a school on campus that teaches all the children below high school level so they don't have to be shipped off for school. The woman who runs it is amazing and we could tell that the kids really loved and respected her. I'll post some pictures of the children there on my next blog.

The city of Bangalore wasn't as impressive as I expected, but we did get to eat at a Pizza Hut! We waited in line for around an hour to get a table, but it was worth it...considering it is one of the only American restaurants we have seen here. We also visited a biological zoo and safari that they have there. The safari was great. I felt a little like we were in Jurassic Park because the tour bus was caged in with wires all around and you had to enter through 2 gates to get into certain sections of the park. We saw white tigers and wild bears right next to us! We also saw a bison with huge horns and the driver stopped the bus and looked as us and said while pointing to him, "that one is violent one." Kim and I looked at each other while the tour guide got off the bus and started throwing rocks at him to make him get out of the path so we could keep going. It definitely wasn't the smartest thing I've seen since being here, but no one got hurt and he eventually moved along. We also visited the Labagh Botanical Gardens. It's a famous park with many different trees and roses and flowers. It was really pretty and I took a lot of scenic pictures.

Kim left for America on Valentine's Day. It was sad dropping her off at the airport, knowing I'd be here alone for a few more months. But one of the girls has been staying in the room with me so I'm not too lonely. We're having fun watching movies and playing games. This week is exam week for the seminary students, so not much is going on. Next week is a missions conference here and I heard there are lots of foreigners coming...even Americans! That should be fun!
