We ended up having some extra Jesus bears after we used them last week at the Children's Home, so Kim and I handed some out to the kids that live down the street. We always see around 7 kids that come out to say "hi" and "how are you" as we walk to the Children's home. But as soon as we started handing out bears, there were at least 12 kids that came out of nowhere! Since we've handed out the bears, everyone runs out to meet us as we walk by each day. Yesterday I was pulled into one of the houses so I could meet a new baby. I always feel bad because we don't know Malayalam and they don't know English, so I end up smiling a lot and making hand gestures to ask how they are doing and what their names are. But I think the families really enjoy interacting with us anyway. We'll have to hand out some more stuff for the kids sometime.
This weekend, Kim and I are going to Bangalore to visit another Children's Home and tour the city. We'll be there until Monday I think. I'm excited about seeing everything because I've heard it looks like an American city (we'll have to see how accurate this is!). I'll be updating next week when we get back so I can let everyone know how it went...I'm sure you'll all be waiting with eager anticipation until then!
